Parameters of Volume Tables by Špiranec for Usable Timber of Pedunculate Oak (Quercus Robur L.), Sessile Oak (Quercus Petraea L.) and Common Beech (Fagus sylvatica L.) pdf HR EN | 635
Summary: The parameters of usable timber over 7 cm in diameter for pedunculate oak (Quercus robur L.), sessile oak (Quercus petraea L.), and common beech (Fagus sylvatica L.) were obtained using regression analysis of volume tables of model trees (Špiranec, 1975) with Schumacher - Hall’s function.Volume parameters of usable timber (above 7 cm) of pedunculate oak: v = 0.000042655 d2.0629283 h0.9145876 The arithmetic mean of the form factor of model trees of pedunculate oak is 0,515727, and the value ranges from 0.49774 to 0.52960. Volume parameters of usable timber (above 7 cm) of sessile oak: v = 0.000033469 d2.0735774 h0.9783376 The arithmetic mean of the form factor of model trees of sessile oak is 0,51987, and the value ranges from 0.42743 to 0.54132. Volume parameters of usable timber (above 7 cm) of common beech: v = 0.000026285 d2.0500706 h1.0655305 The arithmetic mean of the form factor of model trees of common beech is 0,51507, and the value ranges from 0.40506 to 0.53061. The paper highlights the need for further research, the justification of testing two-parameter volume tables with a special stress on management methods and the change of form factor. Key words: common beech (Fagus sylvatica L.); pedunculate oak (Quercus robur L.); sessile oak (Quercus petraea L.); two-parameter volume tables; usable timber
