TECHNICAL NORMALISATION OF WORK WITH BAND SAWING MACHINE


The band sawing machine for logs occupies to-day a very important place in the
saw-mill industry. It is a specially important machine in the veneering factories, where
it presents a kind of an »experiment station« for logs of doubtful quality.


This machine permits a rational sawing of logs. The determination of the norm
fox this machine is of a great importance in the practice.


The author discusses the factors which have influence over the capacity of the
band sawing machine, he examines their determination pointing out the determination
of the factor of the use of time and its relation to the thickness of the logs that
are sawn.


As for the effect of the band sawing machine for logs, the author draws up the
following formula:

Legenda: U — the effect of sawing; d — diameter of the pulley (strap-wheel)
of the machine; k = the move of the log for one turn of the pulley; n = the number
of RxP turns of the pulley in one minute; r = the time of work in minutes; f = the
factor of the use of time regarding the diameter of the log; g = relation between time
of pure sawing and time needed for sawing and the return of the car with the log;
m = thickness of the plank in meters.
