navedene iznose. Kako vidimo engleski podaci o postotku kore se mnogo
razlikuju od naših rezultata.

S obzirom na procentualno učešće kore u totalnoj drvnoj masi stabla
mogli bi zasad naše važnije listaee ovako poredati: cer (oko 22°/»), crna
joha (oko 18°/»), nizinski brijest (oko 18°/»), crnika (oko 18°/»), pitomi kesten
(oko 17°/»), hrast lužnjak (oko 15°/°), obični jasen (oko 15°/«), hrast kitnjak
(oko 14%), poljski jasen (oko 14%), gorski javor (oko 10%), grab (oko 7%)
i bukva (oko 7°/»).

Kad se dobiju podaci o debljini kore i iz drugih područja, moći će se,
dakako, postignuti još sigurniji prosjeci o procentualnom učešću kore.

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE DIAMETER OVER BARK AND THE BARK
THICKNESS FOR OUR MOST IMPORTANT HARDWOOD SPECIES
SUMMARY

We have measured the bark thickness at breast height in 26.956 stems of different
hardwood species in Croatia.
By applying the method of least squares the following results were obtained:

I. The average double bark thickness at breast height is expressed by straight
line equations. (See equations 1 to 15 on page where (Yr) means the double
bark thickness at breast height and (x) the diameter over bark (D). The data concerning
the bark thickness are given in tables 4, 5 and 6. Straight lines representing
the bark thickness for different species are shown in graphs 2, 3 and 4).
II. The relationship between the diameter under bark (d) and the diameter
over bark (D) and vice versa. (See equations k =-r-± gi´, K —-v- ±

to 15a on page ). These relationships are very useful for calculating the volume
increment. In order to obtain the diameter increment including bark increment it is

only necessary to multiply the coefficent I ,1 with the diameter increment under

bark.

III. The bark volume can be expressed in percentages (p) of stem volume with
bark. (See formulae lb to 15b on page ).
