TIME CONSUMPTION AND DETERMINATION OF LABOUR COSTS FOR
RESIN-TAPKING OPERATIONS
Summary

In this paper the author deals with the question of time consumption in resin-
tapping cperations as well as with the determination of labour costs for the French
resin-tapping method.

In his opinion it is possible lo establish normal work performances onlv by
means of an analvtical calculation method.

The data obtained about the time consumption are presented in Tab. 1. Here
it is visible that the time needeđ for the performance of single operations per face
decreases in so far as the number of faces on the tree is inereased. The time consumption
per face for the whole resin-tapping season if there is on the tree one face
is marked with the index 100:l/o; if there are two faces the index amounts to 83.93::,/o,
and to 78.54Vn and 75.77,;l/o for three and four faces respeetivelv.

The percentage of time consumption for preparatorv-final works as compared
to the total time consumption amounts in ali faces to ca. 15!,/() and that used for ehief
\vork to ca. 85%.

On the basis of actuallv used time for single operations there were calculated
dsily normal performances per face for ali work operations if there are te be found
on the tree one and two faces respeetivelv.

The author gives a suitable expression for the calculation of the daily normal
performances if there are to be found in the štand trees with a different number
of faces.

In Table 2 is presented the strueture of time used for single work operations.
It is visible that the percentage of time consuption for going from tree to tree varies
with respect to the individual operations. The intervals show smaller differences and
on an average amount in ali work operations to 10.82%> in relation to the total time
censumed.

The author recommends that the height of the workers´ wages should be determined
per 1 kg. of resin produced — aceording to resin flow — separately for individual
months. Thus the vvorkers will be correctly salaried aceording to the working
effect. Calculation of the \vages can be effected in the manner represented in the
paper.
