A CONTRIBUTION TO THE KNOWLEDGE OF INSECT PESTS ON CORK OAK
(Quercns suber L.)


Summary


In recent years the author has established on a number of trees of Cork Oak
(Qu ere us suber iL.) grown in the Arboretum of the Forestry School at Split
(Dalmatia) a new insect which attacks leaves of this exotic tree species. We are
concerned with a Chrysomelid called M i o p r i s t i s dentipes Ol., which so
far has not occurred on Cork Oak in this country.


Control measures of this insect by means of chemicals have produced satisfactory
results.
