Instruments for Measuring the Tree Heights on Inclined Terrain Summary In the work are displayed new methods for correction of tree heights measured on inclined terrain by hypsometers contrued upon trigonometric principle. The methods are worked out for the cases of using the vertical and horizontal board along with a distance-measurer on the instrument. First solution is realized in the curve-formed nomogram, from which we can determine the factor for correction based on measured height and inclination. When we subtract this factor from measured height, we get the real tree height. The nomogram is applicable instead the correction tables, that are enclosed (fixed) to all hypsometers that we use in practice. In the next solution is possible to build the correction-curves into the space with the scales on the instrument, and to work out the corresponding needle. This solution enables direct reading the correction-factor for all of heights on single inclination. It can be realized by adaptation of some types of existing hypso meters, or working out the new models. |
