The Miner off Thuia (Argyresthia thuiella Packard — Argyresthiidae: -Lep.),
New Species in Croatia

S u m m a r y

The author gives a short morphological describe of the Thuia miner and
shows own views about damage and location in Chroatia. So shows that biology
of this miner is still unknown. The pest is in our locations known just in Thuja
occidentalis but in literature we mention the other hosts. The caterpillar spends
winter in the shell leaves (neddles). She mined needle in two periods — in autumn
and spring. The needles loose their colour and became allmost white and pale,
later they became brown (photo 1).
