Former Land Communities — Today Summary The Proposal of the Law on Denationalization envisages the return of forests and forest land of former land communities to the joint ownership of all inhabitants of a settlement on the territory of which they lie. According to the Forest Law of January 10th, 1991 forests in Croatia are under the management of the public enterprise »Hrvatske šume«, by which conditions were created for their rational and modern management. Due to the current importance of the topic the author searched for older literature on land communities and ideas gathered from it are presented in this paper.
