Possibility for Counting Game Head in fenced Breeding Farms

Summary

Exact number of a large game head which dwell in fenced breeding farms
is very important for good management. By usual way of counting large game
head it is possible to make certain mistake because of great possibility of counting
the same head two or more times. By using here described method for
counting such mistake is impossible to be made because the method contains
simple principle which controls counting two or more times the same head. The
method is tested on counting large game head at fenced breeding farms from
750 acres (300 ha) to 2470 acres (1000 ha) of size and it is applied on counting
the head of the deer and roe game and boar game. By using this method it is
possible to reach 100V» punctuality (accuracy) in view of exact number of the
head and in view of defining quality of counted population. The method is very
cheap and it is very easy to apply.

Tj moves inside the enclosed area (P) haphazardly (Graph 1). Line (a) goes
from the point A to the point B. During that action T( crosses the line from its
left on to its right side and the other way around. If the amount of crossings-
ower of Tj from the left side onto the right is marked as P^+J and amount of
of crossings-ower in the opposite direction is marked as P;(—), then;

p.(+) _ p.(-) = i

By this simple calculation is found out that inside the enclosed area (P) there
is only one dot.
If there moves the unknown amount of dots (n) in that case;

v (p.(+)_p.(-)) = n

If the dot represents game head, the (P) area stands for fenced breading
farm, part of the (a) line within this area represents the vision range (line) of
the man counting the game head.

Thus by the finaly inserted formula there is given the way of counting of
the game head on that area.

As it is ilustrated (Graph 2) five counters move from positons 1 to 5 to the
positons 1´ to 5´. On its ways, during the counting, ewery counter registrates the
amount of the crossings-ower by paying attention to the short sighting line
betwen his own position to the first left neighbouring counter. The number of
neded counters is found out according to the visibility of the area (which depends
on abundance of shurbs and trees).
