A Brief Review of the Appearance of Some Defoliants from the Coleoptera Order on the White Willow (Salix alba L.) at Lipovljani Summary In the area of the Lipovljani Forest Office three plantations of White Wiillow (Salix, alba L.) were established with the aim of exposing this culture to heavy swampy soil implementing the possibilities of using these soils for planting more valuable broadleaved species (Common Ash). In the period of observation during 1988, 1989 and 1990 the appearance of a harmful defoliant was registered from the Coleoptera order, Chrysomelidae family. This paper gives a brief description of the morphological and biological characteristics of the mentioned harmful insects, and the intensity of the damage incurred. |
