SUMMARY: The inventory which is carried out through five low -land
management units of former Prigorje Zagorje region, shows that there are
no more medium age and older trees of Elm Field, except one of this group
by the river Odra. In the period of 1920 - 1948, and 1953 - 1984, that means,
in the period of 60 years, by this river (management unit Turopoljski
lug) more than 40.000 m3 of Elm Field had been fallen through and felld.
The natural resistance of this Elm Field can´t be proved, but it can be supposed
that, at present, the accomodating abiotic factors influence on the preservation
of Elm Field in this region.


In the management unit Siljakovačka dubrava, compartment 169 b there
is one group of Elm Ulmus pinnato ramosa Dieck. The planting was in 1965.
and until today it hasn ´t perrished from holland desease.


We consider that it is necessary, before conservation and hybridization,
to regulate the reservation area (the approval of management unit), on the
places where the Elm Field is, such like this by the river Odra (compartment
54 a and 68). Certainly, it depends on the condition (habitat) of the Elm
Field in other locations in the Republic of Croatia.
