SUMMARY: The paper shows results of comparison of volumes of fir
trees from forest management unit "Belevine" with volume of fir trees from
Schuberg (1891) and Spiranec (1976) double-entry tables. The investigation
sample are presented with 1.404 fir trees. Breast height diameters of the trees
range from 20 cm to 85 cm while tree heights range from 12 m to 40 m.
Sectioning of trees was done on all trees from the sample to preciously determine
largewood volume (up to 7 cm diameter) of the trees over bark. Volume
of trees up to 7 cm diameter over bark is presented with double-entries tables
based on regression of data with Schumacher-Hall equation:

V= 0,000075-d svHll = 0,053 m3

Timber volume increases with increasing of DBH and tree height. Volume
of trees up to 7 cm diameter over bark ranges from 0,216 m3 for trees with
20 cm DBH and 12 m height 10,167 m3 for trees with 85 cm DBH and 40 m
height.

Timber volumes from double-entries tables from forest management unit
"Belevina" have the higher values than timber volumes from Schuberg
(1891) and Spiranec (1976) double-entry tables. In comparison with calculated
double-entry tables, Schuberg tables give the lower volumes for fir-
trees, especially for trees with DBH up to 70 cm. Comparison of calculated
double-entries tables with Spiranec tables presents increasing of timber volume
differences with increasing of DBH of trees. These differences are not in
dependence on tree heights till 50 cm DBH, but onwards on thicker trees differences
decrease with increasing of tree heights. Correction shows the need
of increasing timber volumes by 1,81 % with using Schuberg tables or 5,56 %
using Spiranec tables.
