Summary: A study of garden areas involved 8 public parks (including Zagreb Botanical Gardens of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics) and 2 private gardens in Tuškanac, apart of the City of Zagreb. The plant material: Celtis occidentalis, Gleditsia triacanthos, Juglans nigra, Magnolia acuminata, Quercus rubra, Sophora japonica and Tilia americana has been investigated. The investigation included degree og representation, general vitality andphenological observations. Also, exotic woody plants are very much interest of scientific for botany, silviculture, horticulture and landscape gardening of Croatia. After that, in parks can be observed and studied the ecological relations with regarded to the biological characters ofindividual species. It is especially interesting the study of acclimatization of species and wich adapted themselves to the conditions of climate of the sites of the Zagreb region. For horticulture and forestry investigated species of exotic, have also a great importance as a source of seed basic material for propagation by cuttings and drafing.
