Summary: At the International Council for Game and Wildlife Convenation (CIC) in Praque in 193 7, common international methods for evalution of hunting trophies werw established, with the exception of deer antlers ("Capreolus capreolus L.). The temporay method still used is thr Bieger formula, which takes into acount weight and volume of the antlers. Since this evaluation procedure neglects the aesthetic values of the trophies, the author of this paper supports the idea that the existing formula should be altered and supplied so, that the antler volume is replaced by measuring the length of the prongs and the circumference of the upper and lower branches. He considers the regular Commission for evaluation of hunting trophies of the Croatian Hunting Association the right authority for the job.
